Wing House, the right hand half of the photo, is the oldest part of the
Georgian Wing of Gunthorpe Hall. It has been restored and divided off from
the Hall to form a self-contained holiday house. From the windows there
are magnificent views of the formal gardens, parkland and lake. The house
sleeps up to eleven people and the charm and scale of the original rooms remain
with the addition of modern conveniences including an oil-fired boiler providing
full central heating and supplying hot water.
It is approached through an entrance hall on the ground floor off which there
is a separate toilet/cloakroom and double bedroom with two single beds.
There is a large kitchen with an open fireplace adjoining a dining/day room
which contains a single bed sleeping alcove. The kitchen is well equipped
including a clothes washing machine. There are three bedrooms on the first
floor. One is a large bedroom/sitting room sleeping three comfortably in
single beds which double as sofas. There is a bedroom with a double bed
and one with three single beds, and a separate toilet and bathroom.
Bookings for Wind House run from Saturday to Saturday in the holiday season,
but other periods are available by arrangement.
